Setting the course today for the next generation of mobility – that is the ZF Group’s mission. The technology group develops solutions that allow passenger cars and commercial vehicles to be connected, safe, automated and electric. But how do you, as a supplier, make your own systems tangible to the general public when they operate invisibly in the drive, electronics and control systems of the finished vehicle? For ZF, the answer is a comprehensive annual press event held directly on the test track. In the run-up to the IAA, automotive journalists from around the world can talk to experts at the ZF Global Technology Days and experience the latest innovations for themselves – by getting, among other things, behind the wheel of the company’s newest prototypes.
The Project
Die WORTWERKSTATT as an organizational and content partner
For the WORTWERKSTATT team, the Technology Days began long before the international trade press arrived at the test track. Press events of this magnitude require months of preparation: creating mailing lists, sending out invitations, booking travel and hotel rooms for the participants. Our Vademecum guide provided orientation during the event, as did the program flyers, menus, name tags and signs at the location. Even the vehicles on site were given the event’s typical look with our decals.
Editorial double role with a 360-degree approach
A press kit summarized the information in a media-friendly way. Our credo: we package sophisticated innovations in appealing and comprehensible press releases. With its extensive automotive know-how, DIE WORTWERKSTATT is the ideal partner for this. We used the knowledge we had acquired in input discussions with the engineers about the technology highlights in a number of ways – for the content of the owned media channels, for example.
A hands-on approach that was taken quite literally at the events we supported between 2006 and 2019. We made sure that the press kit was online in all languages and with all assets in good time, that press releases were sent out at exactly the right time, that video and photo teams were able to do their work on site, and that everything ran smoothly at the press conference and accompanying program.
